The bedroom, once a haven of sober and balanced shapes, is acquiring a strongly expressive and spectacular character, both in the technological and the aesthetic sense. As a consequence, the place of rest now features exuberant aspects which we would tend to associate with Hollywood.

Lighting is installed inside furnishing accessories: this is a strong trend that Rodolfo Dordoni has taken up in his You & Me design. On the bedside tables and on the head board the words “You” and “Me” will light up. |

Philippe Starck has responded creatively to the common habit of reading and watching television in bed. In the spirit of M.I.S.S. (Music Image Sofa System), first produced in 2004, he has designed Miss You. This audiovisual bed has a high head board with built in speakers, a light source across its entire width and a cabinet containing a flat-screen television and further speakers. Miss You is also available in a basic version, having only the light source, without any electronic components. |

Driade has re-edited its Edward II canopy bed, featuring very pure and ideal shapes, designed by Antonia Astori. Theatrical in its proportions, it has a traditional flavour, evoked through the use of of iron and wood as structural materials. |

Scent, designed by Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, is inspired by a new concept of natural sleep. Without using any metal parts, the entire bed is made in cedar wood. The scent of this material promotes restful sleep, which is enhanced by the favourable effect of the birch slats and the natural latex mattress. |

Dream is the textile bed project of designer Marcel Wanders. It offers many possibilities for customization and decoration. The bed consists of a base element, entirely covered in fabric, and a number of fabric-covered panels which can be configured as required. The head board panels strike a strongly decorative note. A variety of fabrics in numerous shades of colour are available. |
