The lighting sector has made remarkable progress in the past few years, mainly owing to innovations made possible by new production technologies. These developments have led to the realization of new suggestive and scenic effects and to the production of lamps that save energy and are much safer.

ARTEMIDE

42 Pollici is a new Artemide product, in line with this company’s research activities in the domain of coloured light. Different shades are offered, which can be used individually or in a composition.

FLOS

Flos is probably the company offering the bravest lighting designs. Guns Collection, designed by Philippe Starck, an ironic, media-sensitive and demystifying personality. Guns is the company’s most widely acclaimed creation in 2005. The lamps are supported by gold-plated guns. In this way, Philippe Starck has silently expressed his disapproval and disgust of the current celebration of power and warmongering.

BELUX

Herzog & de Meuron keep demonstrating their ability to create remarkable architecture and design objects through the interplay of materials and emotions. The organically shaped Jinzi lamp, made in silicon, has a fascinating softness about it. It consists of a translucent tube and exerts the hand-crafted charm of a unique piece. The floor model can be placed on almost any stable surface, without requiring any special support. The lamp is lighted by touching its silicon sheathing.
